Luke 2:25-40
There was a man in Jerusalem,
And his name was Simeon.
He was a just and righteous man,
And the Holy Ghost was upon him.
The Holy Spirit revealed to him,
He should not die until he saw the Lord's Christ.
He came by the Spirit to the temple,
When the parents brought in the Child Jesus,
To follow the custom of the law,
To present Him unto God.
Simeon took him up in his arms,
And he blessed God and he said.
Lord now let thy servant depart,
In peace according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation.
Thou hast prepared before all the people.
A light to lighten the Gentiles,
And thy glory of thy people Israel.
Joseph and his mother marveled.
At the things which were spoken of Him.
And Simeon blessed them and he said,
To Mary his mother, behold this child,
Is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel.
And for a sign to be spoken against.
And a sword shall pierce your own soul,
That thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
Anna the prophetess had been a widow.
For many years and was old in age.
She served God in the Temple night and day,
With fasting and prayers.
She came up to them at that moment,
And gave thanks unto the Lord.
And spoke of the Child to all of them,
That looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
And when all things had been fulfilled,
According to the law of the Lord.
They returned to Galilee,
To their own city of Nazareth.
And the Child grew and became strong,
In the Spirit, filled with wisdom .
And the grace of God was upon Him,
The grace of God was upon Him.
For mine eyes have seen Thy salvation,
Yes, my eyes have seen Thy salvation.
