Ephesians 5:2, Jeremiah 4:22
I came to a city, the city was dim,
I looked all around me and I saw within,
The blind, the lame, all manner of disease,
And I cried out oh Lord, from whence cometh these?
And it seemed that an answer came unto me.
These are my people I long to set free.
But they do not know me, they know not my heart,
They don't see my weeping because we're too far apart.
Lord come and cleanse the temple as you did so before.
Cast out all the evil, sweep it clean once more.
And fill it with you sweetness, your holiness, your love,
A sweet smelling savour, to God our Father above!
I saw a city, the city was bright.
I looked all around me, what a glorious sight.
For I saw a river, the river of life,
The father, the Son, and these three did unite.
The angels were singing, the incense was strong,
They sang praise and glory at the heavenly throne.
Oh come Holy Spirit, come with your love,
Come fill the temple, the temple of God.
Lord come and cleanse the temple, restore the Holy things,
And teach us how to worship, our high and priestly King.
To whom all power and glory doth surely belong,
And may we sing as one with the heavenly throng.
Oh come Holy Spirit, thou Fountain of Life,
Come fill the temple, come and fill it tonight.
Oh come Holy Spirit, come with your love,
Come fill the temple, the temple of God.
For we are the temple, the temple of God.
