Jesus came to Nazareth where he had been raised.
He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day,
And as the custom was he stood up to read,
He was given the book of the prophet of Isaiah,
And when he had opened the book to speak,
He found the place where this scripture would be.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because he has anointed me,
To preach the gospel to the poor,
To heal the brokenhearted and to set the captives free,
Give sight to the blind, and the prisoners liberty.
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

He closed the book and returned it again,
And when he sat down all eyes were upon him.
Then he began to say unto them,
Today is this scripture fulfilled in your ears,
And all gave Him witness and all were amazed,
At the gracious words spoken by Jesus that day.

Come unto me all ye that labor,
And are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me,
For I am meek and lowly in heart.
And you shall find rest unto your souls,
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me.
