John 11:1-45
Mary and Martha, friends of Jesus,
Sent him a message, the one you love is sick.
When Jesus heard he said this sickness,
Is not unto death but for the glory of God,
That the Son of God might be glorified.
Now Jesus loved Martha, Mary and Lazarus,
When he heard their brother was sick.
He stayed two days, still in the same place,
Before they would see him face to face.
Then after that he said to his disciples,
Let us go to Judea again.
Because our friend Lazarus is sleeping,
I will go to awake him.
They said if he is sleeping, he will get well,
Then Jesus plainly said, Lazarus is dead.
And I am glad for your sakes,
I was not there, that you may believe.
When Jesus came he found he had lain,
In the grave for four days by then.
Martha went to meet him and she cried,
Lord if you'd been here,
My brother had not died.
He said you brother shall rise again,
Martha said unto him.
I know that he shall rise again,
In the resurrection at the last day.
Jesus said unto her,
I am the resurrection and the life.
He that believes in me shall live,
Even though he were dead.
And whosoever lives and believes in me,
Shall never die, do you believe?
She said yes I believe you are the Christ,
The Son of God who should come into the world.
The Martha left to call her sister Mary,
And told her the Master was asking for her.
Mary arose and came to Jesus,
Along with the Jews that were comforting her.
She fell at his feet and cried,
Lord if you'd been here,
My brother had not died.
When Jesus saw all the people weeping,
He was deeply moved in the spirit and groaned.
He asked where have you laid him?
They said, Lord come and see,
And Jesus wept.
Then said the Jews behold how he loved him,
But some of them said could not this man,
Who opened the eyes of the blind,
Caused that this man should not have died.
Jesus groaning again in the spirit,
Came to the grave where Lazarus was laid.
Take away the stone he said,
But Martha said its been four days since he's been dead.
Jesus said did I not tell you,
If you believe, you will see the glory of God.
Then they took away the stone,
Jesus lifted up his eyes and said.
Father I thank Thee that you heard me,
And I know that you always do.
I said it because of the people here,
That they may believe that you have sent me.
Then Jesus cried with a loud voice,
Lazarus, come forth.
And he that was dead came out of the grave,
Bound hand and foot, a cloth on his face.
Jesus said loose him and let him go.
Then many of the Jews which came with Mary,
Had seen the things that Jesus had done,
Believed on Him.
I am the resurrection and the life,
He that believes in me shall never die.
